Cody is the only son of Rynka. He lives in a run-down shack in the Beast Pit with his mother. Not much is known of the whereabouts of his father other than the fact that he went off on a long journey and never came back.
In the story, Cody is first encountered by Ganz. Cody is seen holding a cat, crying because he can't find its mother. Ganz then offers to help him look. He develops a close bond with Ganz during the game, often referring to him as "Uncle Ganz". Ganz finds common ground with Cody over the fact that both of their fathers disappeared unexpectedly from their lives.
